Thank you Kim Franks for inviting me to the #QRC and #WIMARQ International Women’s Day breakfast. Congratulations to Jo-Anne Dudley winner of the Resources Awards for women. Thank you to Rachael Robertson for your inspirational talk on Leadership in the Antarctic, I was impressed that the expedition the recruitment policy highlights the importance of #EmotionalIntelligence in leadership and team work.
I walked into a training room that was filled with disgruntled, defensive and hurt employees. I had only been briefed moments before about the toxic culture and systematic bullying from senior management.
So, when I asked the question “what needs to happen when trust has been broken” it was a leap of faith. I knew what needed to be shared:
As a DV survivor (18 yrs) I know what it is like when trust is broken. I know that you need to build towards a NEW normal. You find the good in the world, develop a new mindset and practice Kintsukuroi on your soul. You can never Unbreak the broken but you can become bigger, better and more beautiful than ever before.
I give my everything to the work I do, It needed to be said. I made grown men cry, who came up and thanked me afterwards, for shining a light on hope.
