What brings you joy? When was the last time you did something joyful? What could you do more of to bring greater joy into your life? Enhancing Emotional Intelligence and resilience starts with self-awareness. The questions above are designed to invite you to pause and reflect. We are too often on autopilot, doing what we have to do and not doing any of the things we find joyful. So take a moment now and reflect, find and engage with your joy, because when you engage with your joy you are making a proactive step towards resilience.
When we think of #leadership we don’t often think of leaders being vulnerable. Yet, vulnerability and openness are the foundation behind #authenticity and #trust. When leaders are vulnerable they show immense courage. The ability to have the courage to show yourself, rather than false bravado and ego. Courage to own your short-comings and responsibilities. Courage to be open to feedback, to learn and develop. I recently got to witness the courage vulnerability from a CEO in front of his senior leaders and waited to see what would happen. They banded around him and supported him, expressed care for him, showed empathy and created a deeper bond as a team. The team were in turn, inspired to show the courage of vulnerability and what ensured was deep reflection and genuine desire to improve and grow. We were witness to #EmotionalIntelligence in action and the very reason why I am so passionate about facilitating the #GENOS #Ignite program. The program gives space for genuine conversations to arise and the tools to enhance their leadership skills. Send me a message if you are #brave enough to find out more!

I walked into a training room that was filled with disgruntled, defensive and hurt employees. I had only been briefed moments before about the toxic culture and systematic bullying from senior management.
So, when I asked the question “what needs to happen when trust has been broken” it was a leap of faith. I knew what needed to be shared:
As a DV survivor (18 yrs) I know what it is like when trust is broken. I know that you need to build towards a NEW normal. You find the good in the world, develop a new mindset and practice Kintsukuroi on your soul. You can never Unbreak the broken but you can become bigger, better and more beautiful than ever before.
I give my everything to the work I do, It needed to be said. I made grown men cry, who came up and thanked me afterwards, for shining a light on hope.

We aren’t “governed” by location though – in the 21st century our office is where the wifi is!
This week I have a privilege of working with the executive #Leadership team of a multimillion dollar #retail success headquartered in Cairns. Yesterday, as I spoke of #mindfulness, I asked the question:
“How often, do you check in with your staff and ask them how they have contributed towards the organisational strategic plan in the past week/month?”
You see part of being a #MindfulLeader is being focused on the present, being able to see where we are HERE & NOW. If we don’t take the time to check that we, being everyone in the organisation is heading in the same direction how will we know when we need to guide & #engage team members back on course?
